Unfortunately, without a magic crystal ball, we don't know exactly when the tide will turn.

So, in the meantime, we just have to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and keep pounding the pavement - just like Clay Rockwood and Trevor Thompson.

At the May Main Monthly Meeting, both Clay and Trevor will give us a peek into what they do to "Gain a Competitive Edge on the Housing Shortage".  This discussion will be led by Jeff Breglio, Real Estate Attorney - Breglio Law, REI Title.

ABOUT THE PANELISTS:

CLAY ROCKWOOD:  Clay Rockwood is Co-Founder and Partner of Utah House Buyers LLC and oversees commercial acquisitions and financing. He has been acquiring and managing multifamily/commercial properties full time since 2009. Clay began his career as a real estate agent and broker more than a decade ago and shortly thereafter moved into the acquisition, renovation, and disposition of both residential and commercial projects. He has been involved personally in over 500+ transactions. Utah House Buyers LLC is a residential and commercial property acquisition company specializing in assisting owners liquidate troubled/distressed properties. The company grew by more than 80% in its second full year with over 45 deals closed in 2018 and over 60 deals closed in 2019. In 2020 the company closed over 100 deals with gross revenues over $2.3M. Current portfolio consists of 133 multifamily/commercial doors with a combined market value of $20M+ spread across 23 different properties. He holds a Bachelors of Science from the University of Utah and loves spending time outdoors with his wife and 5 children biking, hiking, running and traveling.

TREVOR THOMPSON:  Trevor started in real estate in 2005 after watching Real Estate boom in the early 2000's. This began his real estate career. He served an LDS mission in Costa Rica from 2000 to 2002, returned home and married his wife in 2013. In 2014 He grew bored of working as a subcontractor in builders track homes and he became a Real Estate Agent. Trevor has been involved in over 5000 real estate transactions. He is an active investor with Equity Real Estateand Randall Wall.  When Trevor isn’t thinking about real estate, he enjoys time with his wife and 5 kids,  and enjoys camping and being outdoors, especially in Moab Utah. Trevor is an active Flipper, Landlord, and is on the board of SLREIA.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:

JEFF BREGLIO:  Jeff is an attorney, investor and REI educator living in Salt Lake City. As an attorney he practices asset protection for real estate investors exclusively, and  helps other investors structure and protect their deals. He has been an attorney since 1995. He has also been a real estate investor since 2000, a real estate agent for 8 years, is currently an escrow officer and real estate entrepreneur and educator. He is the founder of REI Mastery University where he is a regular speaker, locally and nationally, to various groups on legal issues of real estate investment, REI transactions, self-direction, asset protection and corporate liability. Jeff is a board member and attorney for the Salt Lake Real Estate Investors Association, was a former been board member and education coordinator for the Utah REIA, as well as a board member of two non-profit organizations and a Salt Lake City community councilman. He has created over 1500 business and protection entities, worked with 1000s clients and been a part over 4000 real estate investment transactions. He currently has both residential and commercial investment properties and is a private lender.
